moscow mule recipe

In honor of St. Patrick's Day festivities this weekend, I wanted to share with you my new favorite cocktail--the Moscow Mule.  No green beer or Jameson whiskey involved but festive, nonetheless!  I bought these beautiful copper mugs on Amazon for a steal (a set of two for under $25) and gifted them to my brother for Christmas.  We tried out the recipe one night for a family dinner and we were hooked!  It is such a refreshing drink that can be served year-round and with only three ingredients, it is super easy to make at home.  I apparently have been living underneath a rock because this drink has been around since the 1940's but I just discovered it.  Better late than never, right?

moscow mule recipe

1.5 ounces of vodka
4 to 6 ounces of ginger beer
( I found the Gosling's ginger beer next to the tonic water in the alcohol section of the grocery store.  If you can't find ginger beer, ginger ale works too!)
1 lime
copper mug

Pour the vodka into copper mug with ice.  Squeeze the lime over the vodka, and drop the wedge into the mug.  Fill the mug with ginger beer.  Stir gently and garnish with lime slice.  Tip: the colder the mug, the better.

Cheers to the weekend!
